New Invention T-Type Three Directional Flush Portable Toilet for Camping Hiking Dual Spray Jets Travel, 5.2 gallon by Leopard Outdoor

I'd like to give the designer of this my personal thanks. This is a very innovative and functional design for a camping bathroom setup. I can't think of anything that needs improvement on this. It breaks apart for cleaning very easily, and goes back together just as fast. I've used it twice now on two separate camping trips - and it's very functional.

Right now it is in my pop-up camper. With a friend using it. The toilet is a great portable solution. The bowl is deep enough, the dump cap has a foam seal that looks like it will not leak, It is strong enough for any big guy to sit on, even as a chair. I studied all the other complaints about other toilets & so far I am totally happy.

This works and is a good price compared to brand names. It's great on a camp trip. Get the tent shelter for a toilet/shower and you have a nice bathroom. The flush on this toilet doesn't reach much of the bowl. The pull out for the opening works but I wish it would open all the way. It opens 90%. Great product for the money. We used it for 2 camp trips so far. Makes it nice for ladies who might not otherwise consider camping at all. We made the guys use the great outdoors. I also love this item for my daughter. She loves camping but hates using the bathroom out there so we got this and have never had a problem.

This worked absolutely perfectly at the great eclipse, The public porta-pottys had long lines and were over flowing and we had our private spot with no line . The suggestion to put in a little unscented ct litter after use worked great. We lined it with kitchen trash bags and clean up was easy.

sometimes, We got this for use in a tent to get rid of the open bucket that we used to use. Definitely a comfort improvement. The intention was only to use for liquid waste, but when our little girl forgot about that rule, we used the deodorant sent with it and recommended and that was a good thing.

  rv composting toilet

Natures Head

First of all, you need to look at the best composting toilet RV brands. Nature’s Head is an option that immediately comes to mind. This is a very popular and predominant brand that has a couple of models that are well worth taking a second look at. The main difference between the two different models is in their handle designs. The nice thing about choosing the Nature’s Head RV composting toilet is that it is very easy to assemble. In addition, these are very long-lasting toilets that offer a very effective solution and more importantly, their waste management solutions produce no odor and the entire system is very compact as well as portable.

Sun Mar

Sun-Mar is another option available to those who want to choose the best composting toilet for RV. Though this brand is not as popular as Nature’s Head it does offer some very exciting solutions. However, their models can be quite expensive but this is on account of their higher capacities and they also offer features like greater portability as well as electric power-driven toilets. However, this brand does not score so highly when you check user reviews as most users say that these compositing toilets for RV are easy to break and most of them also do not function properly.

Thetford 92360 Porta Potti 550E Curve Portable Toilet

This is the third ports pottie I have owned. The first two came with campers I bought and were not used very much. I bought this one for camping, but we have used it mostly for our 4-year-old to use while our bathroom is being remodeled. The other bathroom was far enough away from her bedroom that she was having accidents. She absolutely loves having her very own potty. The only problem I have had is when she forgets to flush… A little pee will seep out between the top and bottom halves.

Emptying and cleaning is the same as the other units I have owned, which were both smaller Thetford models. This one has electric rinse, which is nice. However, the best feature of the Curve is the seat height and the oval shape. It is more like using a home toilet than any other porta pottie. The down side is that it won’t fit in the cabinet in my pop up camper. We carry it in the van, and then use it in a pop up cabana, which is better than stinking up the camper, anyway.

Camco Standard Portable Travel Toilet, Designed for Camping, RV, Boating And Other Recreational Activites (5.3 gallon)

This is the best thing I could have gotten for our camping trips aside from the tents. My kids made fun of me, ‘Oh mom, what’s the matter, can’t walk to the restrooms at the campsite?’… No, I do not want to walk through the trees in the complete dark to the restrooms. Well, those nay sayers used my “Queen’s Throne” as I call it, regularly. All night long too. Especially convenient for the little ones (6 & 7 years old). I filled the top half with clean water upon arrival. On the suggestion of a friend, I dropped one of the little waste dissolving pouches into the bottom with a large cup of water to ‘get it started’ & not have the ‘first use’ get stuck to the bottom so-to-speak. There were 2 children & 2 adults who used this on a regular basis Friday night, Saturday when we were at the campsite & night & Sunday morning. It did not need emptying until we left Sunday mid-morning & there was still a good amount of clean water in the top half.

There was absolutely no odor at all!! I was very pleasantly surprised & pleased about this! Waste went cleanly down the opening & the ‘flusher’ rinsed everything all nice & clean.

Thetford 92850 Porta Potti 320P Portable Toilet for RV, marine, camping, healthcare toddler training, trucks, vans

Had for over a year now and still working well. In almost daily use. Just wish I had gotten one a little taller, it’s hard get so low to the ground to use but it works very well and it’s easy to clean. Would recommend. Also the fill indicator is a nice feature to let you know its getting close to full

So, if you are looking for a reliable affordable and dependable composting toilet systems for rv, you should, like most people, choose Natures’ Head. The good news for those who want to buy a composting toilet for RV is that as technology evolves, newer models will be offered that are more effective and efficient. Best of all, the modern compost toilet rv is also very self-contained.

How Do Self Composting Toilet Work?

rv car tiny house trip

One major benefit to using self composting toilet is that it helps us conserve water. A self-composting portable toilet has a properly ventilated container in which human waste is gathered and decomposed. The conventional style toilet on the other hand has a flushing system. The way that a self composting waterless toilet works depends to a large extent on aerobic bacteria, which help is breaking down the waste.

self composting toilet works

No flushing required

So, when a person opts for a portable self composting toilet he or she will not require a flushing system to get rid of the waste. Instead, waste is composted through sources that are rich in carbon. Typically, this means using wood shavings or bark mulch or leaves. There are several different types of self-composting waterless toilets to choose from.

Each one works differently and the one that you end up choosing will be one that suits your needs the best. Even so, every self-composting outdoor toilet has a few common features including use of heaters or fans (electrically driven), air as well as an exhaust system plus a door that allows you to empty out the composted waste. Here is a brief look at the different kinds of self-composting waterless toilets.

Single composters

This kind has just one chamber. It is a self-contained toilet in which the waste and composting materials are put in the top and the composted waste is then removed from the bottom continuously.

Batch composters

This is another type of self-composting home toilet in which there are a minimum of two chambers. In this kind of non electric composting waterless toilet, the composters will first be filled and then they are allowed to age. Once this happens the waste is added to the composter, which then does its work.

In this type of portable self-composting waterless toilet there is a rotating drum in which the active composting of the waste takes place in aerated and moist conditions. A special system helps to separate the liquid waste from the solid waste and it is then sent out into a soak pit. A ventilation system helps to not only minimize odor production but it also helps to maintain the right aerobic conditions. The rotating drum is well suited to composting the waste in warm and moist conditions.

Whatever type of self composting toilet you opt for it will work in a certain manner. In fact, it must perform 3 essential functions. Here is a brief look at each of these functions.

Vaporise moisture

First of all, the self composting toilet needs to vaporize whatever moisture there is. Most of the waste is watery and it will soon evaporate. Then the evaporated liquid is sent out via a venting system. A heating system may also be provided with the self-composting waterless toilet to quicken up the speed with which the waste evaporates.

Does not create odor

Secondly, the non electric composting indoor toilet needs to compost the non-liquid waste without creating any odor. Although waste normally does break down on its own, the process can be made shorter by using the right self-composting system. In this kind of system, you will find some materials being added such as peat mix and sawdust as well as popcorn and any other suitable additive. These materials are called bulking materials. They help to break down solid wastes without producing any odor.

Easy to handle

Thirdly, the compost should be easy to handle. In some self-composting camping toilets thaw solid waste is not mixed with liquid waste. The nice thing about this is that it allows you to use the solid waste in different ways before finally getting rid of it.

This is some best non electric composting waterless toilet for sale that we think and fulfill with above function that be the best self composting toilet in 2017

Nature's Head Self Contained Composting Toilet with Close Quarters Spider Handle Design (NH-SPH)

Nature's Head Self Contained Composting-Toilet with Close Quarters Spider Handle Design

(4.4 out of 5 stars)

I Got this for my mobile "tiny house" project in an urban area, where a sawdust toilet wasn't practical (plus my boyfriend refused to poop in a bucket). The design on the composting toilet is so nice. For regular use plan to empty the urine jug about twice a week. Absolutely no smell except that of soil. The urine jug smells when you empty it, but hey! It's a giant jug of pee so what do you expect? The only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is that it does seem expensive for what it is, but as a previous reviewer mentioned it might be a LOT cheaper than the alternative depending on your situation.

I don't know where the negative reviews are coming from for best self composting toilet, I am pleased with it. I bought this unit in 2014, intending to use it in a cabin I was building. Stuff happened, and the toilet sat in the box unopened until June 2016, when we finally finished the cabin. We installed it, followed set up directions, and started using it. It has performed flawlessly with two people full time. Is there noise? A little, a gentle hum no louder than the white noise masker I use every night. We got used to it within hours. There is zero odor, even when the deed is being done. No candles, no spray, no nose holding...It is not gross, it is not difficult, there is no outside odor that we have been aware of. We did install the vent pretty high, so that probably helps. We also have a Natures Head, and this Sun-Mar so outperforms that unit (which in fairness is also a good toilet) that it is night and day. I would heartily recommend this unit to anyone wanting a composting waterless toilet.

Nature's Head Dry Composting Toilet with Standard Crank Handle (NH1)

Nature's Head Dry Composting-Toilet with Standard Crank Handle

(4.3 out of 5 stars)

I purchased this toilet 3 years ago, it has worked great in our cabin in the mountains since day one. A quick and easy install, easy to operate and maintain. Overall, I still say this is a very good purchase for situations where you must have a non-flushing toilet. I wish the instructions included with the toilet mentioned using a piece of screen. Wait - it would have been best to include that in the box when it shipped. Plus the rubber band, of course.

With composting waterless toilets pros and cons that we show you. we hope it can help you, Have fun with your best self composting toilet!
